Intro Seminars:
Summer is a terrific time to try something new, and many students opt to begin a new style of dance during our
short summer session. Dancers who have never studied tap, jazz, or ballet can get a crash course in the
basics from scratch in our Intro Seminars. Intro Seminars are required for dancers with no prior experience to
join our Beginner levels in the fall; Summer Intro dancers can slip right into Beginner classes after just 4 Intro
classes. Kiddos who have graduated from our fall Genesis 5/6 ballet or tap classes must also take Intro
Seminars before advancing--summer is a great time to check that off the to-do list! Choose from 3 dance forms,
or learn all 3.

toward promotion to a new level in the fall.
Hip Hop
No Intro Seminar is needed for Hip Hop--just bring your free spirit and leave your inhibitions at home! Hip hop is
offered for all ages 7+ on Mondays 7:30-8:30 pm.
Cost for all Intros, Beginner level classes, & Hip Hop: $14/class; $10 registration fee; for further info, see
Tuition & Registration below.
Wear: Please refer to our "About Us" page for our dress code. Ballet Intro dancers should follow the Ruby
(Beginner) level for leotard color. We have a borrow box of shoes you're welcome to borrow for the summer.
Notes: Summer Intro Seminars will be held regardless of the number of students in each class. Hip Hop & all
continuing classes must meet the 5-student minimum to remain open, so bring a buddy!

Summer tuition must be paid in full, plus the $10 per-student registration fee if one applies (no reg fee for
SYTYCD Events), upon registration for summer classes. Summer registration fees are non-refundable, even if
we have to cancel the class for low enrollment. Should we be forced to cancel, registrants will receive a full
tuition refund, plus free fall registration, if they wish to dance with us in the fall. All summer registration fees
apply to fall if you register for fall classes before October 1, 2010.
Tuition Scale:
Payment methods that Footsteps accepts are cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, & Discover. Checks should be
made payable to "Footsteps."
Should multiple family members wish to enjoy summer classes at Footsteps, or should one dancer wish to
take multiple classes, we offer the following discounts:
5% discount for 2nd class per family
10% discount for 3rd+ classes per family
For the SYTYCD Events, additional family members receive a $5 discount. No further discounts will be offered
on these special events.
Because so many families take vacations during our summer session, we offer all classes for payment by the
week--you only pay for the weeks of classes you are taking. Please note that this policy only applies to summer
classes! There is no prorating for days missed from SYTYCD Events, however--the fee is remains the same
whether you attend all 4 days, or fewer.

to tour the facility, ask questions, watch classes, and fill out your paperwork. All forms must be completed
for a student to be registered for summer classes.
- 3. Call us at 614-883-5599 to register over the phone with your credit card. All forms will need to be
signed the first day of class before your student will be permitted to dance, though!

If you have ever watched the hit TV reality show So You Think You Can Dance, you already know that the
dancers on the show perform a variety of dance forms, stepping out of their comfort zones to expand their
dance knowledge and ability, as well as their poise and confidence. This summer, we're offering kids ages 7+
a similar opportunity in our SYTYCD Events!
Each event includes 4 one-hour combo classes: 30 minutes of one dance form & 30 minutes of another.
The class times are 4:00-5:00 pm Monday-Thursday, and this event is being offered June 28-July 1 and
again July 12-15. Please indicate on your registration form which week you'd like. Kids will sample 8
different dance forms: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, Broadway, modern, lyrical, and creative movement.
On the show, the dancers compete for the title of America's Favorite Dancer. Here at Footsteps, we couldn't
possibly choose just one favorite dancer, so each participant will win a certificate and trophy for being one
of Footsteps' Favorite Dancers! And just like the show competitors receive constructive critiques from the
judges, our participants will receive a recommendation from our staff as to what type of dance they might
wish to study more in-depth in our Fall 2010-11 season and why that is the appropriate choice in our
professional opinion. SYTYCD dancers also get a free Footsteps dance bag and invitation to march with
us in the Orange Twp July 4th Parade.
The SYTYCD event is open to both boys and girls ages 7+. Dance clothes are not required, but participants
should wear clothing that covers all private body parts fully, including midriffs, and offers freedom of
movement. Socks will do just fine; we've also got an extensive Borrow Box of used dance shoes that kids can
borrow, especially for tap.
The cost for one SYTYCD Event is $65 per dancer ($5 discount for each additional dancer per family), with
no registration fee. A minimum of 5 students is required, so bring a friend and have even more fun!

| FDT Company & Pointe Program |
The dancers who study in the Footsteps Dance Theater Company, our pre-professional accelerated learning &
performing program, have a busy summer of dance. We hold auditions in May for the next season's company and
spend the summer learning the coming year's competition choreography and keeping up with ballet technique
and conditioning.
Dancers who desire to remain in our Pointe Program next fall are required to take a minimum of 2 weeks of ballet
and pointe over the summer to maintain their strength and technique.
If you are an experienced dancer and you're interested in our Company and/or Pointe programs, don't fret--it's
not too late to join the fun! Please contact our office to set up an evaluation with our studio Director, Miss Jennifer.
Current FDT Company dancers will receive detailed instructions as to their summer class requirements &
rehearsals for Nationals by mid-March. Stay tuned!
