| Safari of Fun Summer Dance Adventure |
Come monkey around with us for 4 days as we tour the fun world of jazz dancing! Boys and girls ages 5-9
are invited to join the adventure from Monday, June 23-Thursday, June 26, 9:30-noon each day.
Activities include jazz-based dance classes, jungle-theme crafts that form a "costume" for the final
performance for the parents, healthy snacks, and creative movement games, among other fun things. Miss
Tracy introduces children to jazz dance while challenging their thinking, building their young bodies, and
encouraging their imagination and self-expression. All of this, plus lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Cost: $95 per child paid in advance, no registration fee
Wear: Comfy clothes the kids can move freely in, with socks or bare feet
Notes: A minimum of 6 students must be enrolled in order to go on the Safari of Fun. Should we be forced
to cancel, registrants will receive a full refund, plus a $5 discount on their summer or fall registration fee, if
they wish to dance with us in either summer or fall classes. A maximum of 16 kids will be accepted. Should
enrollment exceed 10, an assistant or 2 will help Miss Tracy with extra hands and extra love! Each registrant
will also receive a $5 coupon toward a new pair of dance shoes, available at Footsteps' Fall Open Houses in
August.

Get a taste of 4 different kinds of dance with 2 classes each in jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop. Classes are 60
minutes each, twice a week. This is a wonderful option for those who wish to try dancing but don't know
which kind would best suit them. Try a nibble of each, then choose one or two to really chew on in fall classes!
The Summer Dance Sampler is for boys and girls ages 7+.
Classes meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:00. If you cannot attend all 4 weeks, don't panic! You
may sign up for 2, 3, or 4 weeks; just please indicate which weeks you will attend on your registration form.

In summer we offer a mixed-age pre-ballet class as part of our Genesis Ballet Program. For details about all
the ways we learn and have fun in Genesis classes, please refer to our "Classes" page. The older kids act as
role models and helpers for the younger ones as they all learn basic ballet together--it truly is darling to watch!
When:
5:45-6:30 on the following dates: Thursday, June 26; Thursday, July 3; Thursday, July 17; and Friday, July 18.
Strange schedule, but we are working around taking our older dancers out of town for special dance
competitions!
Wear:
Girls: Any solid color leotard & ballet skirt, or dance dress (leotard with attached skirt), white socks, pink
leather ballet shoes; if you plan to enroll in Footsteps fall Genesis classes, please check our "About Us" page
for the proper dress code color outfit, so you don't waste money on the wrong color! Hair out off face in
pigtails or ponytail. We have a borrow box of shoes that you're welcome to use for the summer.

Summer is a terrific time to try something new, and many students opt to begin a new style of dance during our
short summer session. Dancers who have never studied tap, jazz, or ballet can get a crash course in the
basics in our Intro Seminars. Intro Seminars are required for dancers with no prior experience to join our
Beginner levels in the fall; Summer Intro dancers can slip right into Beginner classes after just 4 Intro classes.
On the other hand, those who opt to take their Intro in the fall may have to take up to 8 Intro classes! Summer is
the perfect time to learn your Intro material in longer, less-populated classes. Choose from 3 dance forms.

Intro to Jazz--Mondays 4:45-5:45
Intro to Ballet--Mondays 4:00-5:00
Intro to Tap--Thursdays 3:45-4:45 (The studio will be closed Thursday, July 24 for our older dancers' trip to
Cincinnati for a national dance competition. That day's classes will be held on Friday, July 18 instead, 3:45-4:45.)
Experienced dancers who are new to Footsteps should call us at 614-883-5599 for a placement evaluation.

One should never be too old to jump for joy! Our adult classes offer not only great exercise and personal
challenge, but great camaraderie as well. Some of our grown-up dancers danced when they were children;
others wished they had but stepped out of their comfort zones to join us later in life. Whatever your situation, our
adult tap, jazz, and ballet classes are worth stepping into just for fun!

our Fall Open Houses in August. Many dancers borrow shoes for the summer session before they decide to
invest in their own for fall; if you are one of these dancers, it'll be convenient to upgrade when Footsteps offers
ballet, tap, and jazz shoes, as well as all other Beginner Level dress code items, for advance order during Open
Houses. Just stop on in and we'll have you try on our sizers, then order your items and redeem your coupon.
Your brand new dance attire will be waiting for you on your first day of classes in our 2008-09 season! These
